TB Skin Testing
We offer Mantoux skin testing by appointment on MONDAYS, TUESDAYS, WEDNESDAYS and FRIDAYS only. A return appointment is required within 48-72 hours to have the results of the TB skin test read by a nurse. Tuberculosis testing is under the guidelines of the Cook County Department of Public Health.
1-Step TB test
- 1st appointment - injection - must be on a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Friday
- 2nd appointment - 48-72 hours after injection to read results
2-Step TB test
- 1st appointment - injection - must be on a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Friday
- 2nd appointment - 48-72 hours after injection to read results
- 3rd appointment - injection - must be no sooner than 1 week from 1st appt and no later than 3 weeks from 1st appt
- 4th appointment - 48-72 hours after injection to read results
Residents: $20 for a 1-Step or $40 for a 2-Step
Non-Residents: $25 for a 1-Step or $50 for a 2-Step

TB Blood Draw Testing
QuantiFERON- TB Gold blood test is also available. This test can be performed Monday through Friday and requires only 1 appointment.
- An IGRA may be used in place of (but not in addition to) a tuberculin skin test (TST) in all situations in which CDC recommends TST as an aid in diagnosing adult M tuberculosis infections.
- An IGRA is preferred for testing persons who have received Bacillus Calmette-Guérin (BCG) as a vaccine or for cancer therapy.
- Results expected within 2-5 days
