Hanover Township will distribute Thanksgiving meal boxes to families beginning November 19, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Hanover Township Astor Avenue Community Center, 7431 Astor Avenue in Hanover Park. Registration is required at the Community Center.
Meal boxes will also be distributed on Thursday, November 20, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Friday, November 21, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. while supplies last. Residents must provide a valid ID or food pantry card. Only one meal box will be distributed per household.
Last year 575 Thanksgiving meal boxes were distributed to Township families.
Each meal box contains a 12-14 pound frozen turkey, canned fruits and vegetables, gravy mix, potatoes, stuffing mix, coffee and dessert.
Thanksgiving meal box sponsors include St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church of Streamwood, Knights of Columbus Mary’s Millennium Council #12801, the Streamwood Woman’s Club, and the Kiwanis Club of Streamwood.
