Updates Regarding Change in Service Delivery

The Township for the past two weeks has been closely monitoring developments of the new coronavirus (COVID-19). Our departments of Community Health and Emergency Services have been in communication with county and state agencies to coordinate internal preparedness plans and efforts to assist the community.

Earlier today, the Township Board of Trustees made the decision that all in-person appointments with caseworkers and staff be conducted over the phone, or virtually, through April 4. All programs and special events will be canceled through April 18. The need for urgent, in-person appointments will be made on a case-by-case basis with the appropriate staff person.

Township transportation services are also limited through April 4 with the exception of dialysis and other critical appointments.

The Township will continue to deliver meals to home-bound, qualifying residents during this period. The Stars N Stripes Café (congregate meal program) will also offer pre-ordered, curbside meal pick-up at the Senior Center in Bartlett.

All Township facilities and the Food Pantry will remain open to serve the community and accept donations.

These decisions were carefully made with best interests of our residents, particularly older adults, in mind, as well as our staff.
