Based on the guidance from Illinois Department of Aging, all older adult group activities will be suspended until further notice as a precautionary measure to reduce the potential risk of exposure.
Veterans are invited to join Veterans Specialist Cyndi Wollack for a FREE guided tour of the Italian American Veterans Museum & Library in Stone Park. The exhibits shed light on their Hometown Heroes. The American Revolution, Civil War, World War II Home Front, World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War. Additional exhibits cover World War I, women in the military, military patches and insignias, the national organization known as the Italian War Veterans, the strategic role of Alaska, lines of communication, military paperwork and many more. The museum also contains a library, with an archive of memorabilia and a small art exhibit. Veterans should bring money for lunch at "Antonio Ristorante Italiano" in Itasca.
