Elections and Voting Information

• Voter Registration at the Clerk's Office or on-site at your location. Please call to set up a date.
• Schedules classes in conjunction with the Cook County Clerk’s Office for the Deputy Registrar Training, allowing each citizen to register their neighbor to vote.
• Coordinates Election Judge Training Classes with the Cook County Board of Elections.
• Furnishes applications for:
•       Absentee ballots
•            Disabled voter program
•       Temporary absentee student ballot application program
• Provides early voting and absentee voting for unincorporated Cook County residents.
• Distribute Election Material from the Cook County Board of Elections to Election Supply Judges.
• Responsible for implementing revisions and/or changes in voting procedures as directed by the Illinois State Board of Elections

November 6, 2012 Presidential Election Key Dates

9/27/2012	First day absentee ballot applications are accepted
10/09/2012	Last day to register to vote
10/10/2012	First day of grace period registration and voting
10/15/2012	First day of Early Voting
10/30/2012	Last day of grace period registration and voting
11/01/2012	Last day of Early Voting
11/01/2012	Last day to request a mail-in absentee ballot, including military and overseas voters.
11/02/2012	In-person absentee voting begins at the Clerk's downtown Chicago office and five suburban courthouse mini-centers
11/05/2012	Last day voted mail-in absentee ballots can be postmarked for acceptance by the Clerk's officeLast day of in-person absentee voting at the Clerk's downtown Chicago office and five suburban courthouse mini-centers
