The voters of Hanover Township will consider at the upcoming General Election to be held on Tuesday, November 6, 2018, the following referendum:
Shall Hanover Township, Cook County, Illinois be authorized to levy a new tax for the sole purpose of providing service programs for youths, as provided for under Article 215 of the Illinois Township Code, and have an additional tax of 0.05% of the equalized assessed value of the taxable property therein extended for such purposes?
Expanded Programs & Services if Youth Services Referendum is Successful
- Hanover Township Youth & Family Services anticipates serving an additional 6,000 youth and their families, for a total of 10,000 youth, roughly half of the 7 – 18yr old population in Hanover Township.
- Hiring of two (2) additional Drug Prevention Specialists to combat the drug and opioid crisis.
- Hiring of two (2) additional Family Therapists to reduce the number of families waiting for services and increase the availability of mental health programs.
- Creation of a Township run Youth Center, open after school, weeknights and weekends. Youth and teen programming, family therapy, tutoring and other expanded programs offered onsite.
