Hanover Township Summer Open Gym Underway!

Free and open to Township youth!

The Hanover Township Summer Open Gym Program will begin June 3 and run through August 2. This free program will be offered at five locations throughout the Township. 

Youth will participate in a combination of team building activities, recreation, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) projects, fun arts and crafts activities, plus 11 acres of beautiful outdoor space at the Izaak Walton Center featuring outdoor education activities. Open Gym is designed to give youth a safe, fun, and positive place to go that allows them to make new friends and showcase their skills while being around positive, caring adult staff.

The Open Gym schedule for the summer is:

  • Mondays, 12:00PM – 4:00PM, for ages 5-14 at Oakhill Elementary (Enter Door #9), 502 S. Oltendorf Road, Streamwood.
  • Tuesdays, 12:00PM – 4:00PM, for ages 5-14, at Laurel Hill Elementary (Enter Door #7), 1750 Laurel Avenue, Hanover Park. 
  • Wednesdays, 12:00PM – 4:00PM, for ages 5-16, at Hanover Township Izaak Walton Center and Reserve, 899 Jay Street, Elgin.
  • Thursdays, 12:00PM – 4:00PM, for ages 5-14, at Laurel Hill Elementary (Enter Door #7), 1750 Laurel Avenue, Hanover Park.
  • Fridays, 12:00PM – 4:00PM, for ages 5-16, at Hanover Township xIzaak Walton Center and Reserve, 899 Jay Street, Elgin.
