Summer Tutoring Program Prevents Summer Learning Loss
Open to all Township students!
Did you know, according to Oxford Learning, that 2.6 months of your child’s math skills are lost over the summer break and that two months of reading skills are lost as well! When school returns, your child will spend six weeks catching up on their math and reading skills – which also makes it difficult for them to learn new material.
Summer learning loss is real and it happens naturally during the summer months. This is why Hanover Township Youth and Family Services offers a Summer Tutoring Program designed specifically to address reading and math skills. Our Summer Tutoring Program focuses on continued learning so that your child can return to school with less difficulty and so their learning loss is minimal. Our certified teachers work in small groups to promote the questioning of materials and encourages children to learn best at their own pace. Our tutoring groups have a maximum of four students per tutor giving your child ample attention individually as well as opportunities for group learning. Children in grades 2nd through 8th grades can participate in our Summer Tutoring Program.
